You may be familiar with, or may even watch the reality show, “So You Think You Can Dance?” The dancers are incredibly talented and make their dance moves look effortless. Of course, their dance moves aren’t easy, and they usually require years of practice to perfect. Regardless, dancers have one main thing in common – great legs that we would all love to have. The good news for the rest of us? We don’t need to become Prima Ballerinas, or take intensive dance lessons, to have great legs. Follow these easy moves while staying focused on your healthy weight loss plan. Soon, you should start seeing the results - those lean and shapely legs you desire.
You can perform each of these leg exercises at home. It’s also nice to know you don’t have to spend a million bucks for legs that look like a million bucks.

1) Pistol Squat
- Start by standing with your feet close together.
- Hold both of your arms straight out in front of your body at shoulder level, parallel to the floor.
- Straighten your right leg and raise it slightly off the floor – toes up and heel down - and hold it there.
- Push your hips back and bend your left knee, while keeping your right leg straight.
- Keep bending your left knee, and lower your body as far as you can.
- Pause, then slowly straighten your left leg, pushing your body completely back to the starting position.
- Switch legs and repeat the steps above.
2) Farmer’s Walk on Toes
- Grab a pair of heavy dumbbells (10+ pounds, each), and holding them against either side, with long, straight arms.
- Rise up onto the balls of your feet and walk either forward, or in a circle, for 60 seconds.
3) Goblet Squat
- Hold a dumbbell vertically against your chest, with both hands holding the top dumbbell head. You’ll be cupping the dumbbell head, just as you would a very heavy goblet.
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width, or just a little further, apart.
- Tighten your abs, then slowly lower your body as far as you can, by pushing your hips back and bending both knees.
- Pause, then push yourself back to the starting position.
