Alternative Workout Ideas for When It’s Too Cold to Exercise Outside

If you have been exercising outdoors, the extremely cold temperatures have probably interrupted your daily routine. Not to worry, you can still work out. Bring your exercise schedule indoors. Use the following ideas to get your routine back in step with your weight loss program.

1) Visit a gym 

Some gyms offer temporary memberships and day passes. You’ll save money by not paying for a full membership if you only plan to work out there occasionally. Jump on a treadmill or a stationary bike, or join an exercise class. That way you can stick to your workout schedule and keep working towards your weight loss goal until the weather improves outside.

2) Invest in “small” exercise equipment 

Even if you’re short on money and/or space in your house, you can still work out at home. Shop around for small hand weights and other workout equipment that won't take up too much space.

3) Exercise at home

If you take a look at some of our previous FIT Bit exercise posts, you’ll find several suggestions for indoor workouts. Many of these exercises are easy and will help you lose weight and stay in shape. Even better, most of them require little or no equipment. All you need is a carpeted floor or a mat, and you're good to go.
