Hollywood's awards season has started in full force and some of us may envy the fit and trim celebrities. Some of us wonder how to lose weight fast and are tempted by trendy "Hollywood" diets, especially since they often promise quick results with little effort. The ladies may look glamorous and slender in their gowns as they walk along the "Red Carpet," but who knows whether their diets are actually healthy or effective for long-term weight loss.
These are 3 trendy diets where people really do lose weight, but you will be much better off avoiding them and choosing low-carb diet plans instead.

1) Raw Food Diet
People lose weight on the raw food diet by eating only unprocessed and uncooked foods. "Rawists" believe eating foods above 116°–118° F destroys the enzymes that provide the most health benefits. On the positive side,
this diet has nutritious value since it allows dieters to eat all the raw fruits and vegetables they want. On the downside, the other ingredients allowed in this diet, including nuts, beans, and grains, can be expensive and the recipe choices are rather limited. An important thing to note: research does not back up the claim that caloric content is affected by heating foods, so this diet is not based on fact.
A low-carb diet also promotes weight loss and offers the nutritional benefits of eating plenty of raw vegetables and fruits along with healthy, cooked whole foods. A balanced diet with lean protein and fats allows for weight loss without sacrificing all your favorite foods and flavors.
2) Master Cleanse
This diet is very popular, especially in southern California. Karla Campbell, MS, RD, a dietitian in Long Beach, California describes the diet as such:
Dieters "cleanse" their system by drinking certain "concoctions" several times a day for 10 days. They also start each morning by drinking a quart of salt water, and then drink an herbal laxative tea before bed. They do this to remove waste, or so-called toxins from the body, and to lose weight very quickly.
Campbell adds this warning: “Dieters who try it end up losing lean body mass, and then when they are ‘cleansed’ and go back to their old ways, they gain fat. They end up being a fatter version of their old selves.”
Once again, the low-carb diet beats the Master Cleanse in numerous ways. For one thing, the "cleanse" lacks key nutrients such as protein, calcium, iron, and zinc. For another, when you lose weight this rapidly, you are going to gain it back just as quickly. The low-carb diet, which offers healthy and steady weight loss, is much better for long-term results.
3) Cabbage Soup Diet
This diet isn't as bad as most of the other trendy diets since it provides plenty of liquids and vegetables. On this diet, you're able to enjoy all-you-can-eat "fat burning" cabbage soup - a mix of cabbage, carrots, celery, tomatoes, peppers, and onions - for a seven-day cycle. Since this diet restricts so many other food groups, it is a poor choice for healthy and long-term weight loss. You are probably not going to even want to stay on this diet for very long since it offers no variety or substance. So, once again, you will make a much better choice with a low-carb diet that provides a nutritious balance of foods, flavors, and protein.
It may not seem like it, but celebrities are real people, too. Many of them face the same challenges as the rest of us with their weight loss and maintenance goals. When it comes down to it, they probably work just as hard, if not harder than the rest of us, to manage their weight with healthy diets and regular exercise. You too can be a star on your own red carpet as you successfully lose weight by following the healthy diet plans and exercise routines as recommended by FIT Medical Weight Loss.
