Ignore these 5 common weight loss tips

 

1.  You need long hours of cardio to lose weight

Cardio exercises help to burn fat, which in turn burns calories. But overdoing it can have negative effects including muscle loss and decreased metabolism.

Instead, consider the following ways of incorporating cardio into your weight loss plan:

  • Combine moderate cardio with strength training
  • Do high intensity interval training
  • Limit cardio routines to 20-30 minutes/week

2.  Weigh yourself everyday

This is a quick way to get discouraged, especially since your daily weight can fluctuate due to water weight.
