Is weight loss one of your New Year’s resolutions? If so, then you probably already know how important it is to choose the right foods and serve the right portions to reach your weight loss goals. A healthy, balanced diet plan includes plenty of lean protein and vegetables. Choose delectable recipes which are low in both carbs and calories. The grilled (broiled) pork chop below is a perfect entrée option that fits nicely into a low carb diet plan and tastes delicious. You can serve a variety of vegetables with this dish depending on your specific weight loss plan.

One vegetable suggestion is sautéed spinach, which is “free.” Another possible side is a large salad made from mostly free veggies; the number of calories and carbs will depend on which other veggies ("non-free" vegetables) you add to your salad.

When you work out on the day you serve this dish, you can use those extra calories you burned and enjoy a larger pork chop portion with more non free veggies. On the other hand, you could have the reduced pork chop portion size and choose to eat more non-free veggies along with the free veggies instead.
