Don't Let Working from Home Make You Sluggish

Does working from home have you off of your game? This can be for a number of different reasons. With the separation of home and work life harder than ever, stress creeps in and effects everything. The good news is that you can take a few steps to make this all a little easier on you. Pick one of two of these tricks to try today!

  • Dress for success. Just because you aren't interacting with people, it doesn't mean you can't dress to impress yourself! Getting dressed in the morning as if you were going out to interact with people can put you in the right headspace to tackle the day's challenges.
  • Keep unhealthy snacks out of reach. It seems counter-intuitive, but it's pretty easy to roll out of bed and go straight to your desk without making time for a good breakfast. When we do this, we end up snacking on those "unhealthy treats" all day. Do your best to keep them in a spot that takes more effort to get to, or get rid of them altogether.
  • Don't let your work-at-home life become your home life. Find a way to make sure that when you are done with work, you are DONE. Turn your computer off and leave your phone at your desk. Make sure that you (and your family) know that almost anything that happens at work when you are off the clock can be saved for the next day.
  • Take a mid-day walk. Nothing clears your head more than a good mid-day walk. Prepare a light, healthy lunch that is easy to eat while walking and get outside on your daily break.
