You ever had a bad day and want to go home and eat junk food until you are full? This is called emotional eating. This is one of the most popular ways that a good diet goes poorly. So how do you avoid it? We have some tips!

For more information about FIT Medical Weight Loss programs and how we can help you reach your weight loss goals contact one of our clinics below or click here for more information. We can help you get away from emotional eating and on the road to living a healthier life. Reach out to us today to start working on becoming a better you.

  • Keep Unhealthy Snacks Away. It's a lot easier to avoid unhealthy foods and snacks when they aren't accessible in the first place. The best way to do this is to remove them from your grocery list entirely!
  • Have Healthy Snack Alternatives on Hand. We've talked about healthy snacks before. Fruits and nuts are a great way to satisfy any cravings that arise throughout the day.
  • Only Allow Yourself to Eat During Certain Hours. This is another benefit of intermittent fasting. A lot of emotional eating occurs between meals and late at night.  Avoiding eating entirely at these times can help.
  • Recognize Excess Eating. Being aware of why you are eating goes tremendous lengths here. Every time you go to eat, ask yourself why. If the reason is "because I'm upset" or "I'm stressed!" - it may be time to find a different outlet.
