There are currently 134 days until the New Year. Think how much you can achieve in that time. Reflect on how much weight you can lose between now and then. Even if you lost only 1 pound a week before New Year’s Eve, that would be almost 20 pounds by the time you welcomed in the New Year.
Think about how much better you will feel if you started today.
Think about how much energy you will have if you started today.
Think about how much better your clothes will fit if you started today.
There is never a right time to start anything so consider what is actually stopping you from starting today. The reality is if you waited for the right time to begin anything it may never happen.
As 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by the time the 1st February rolls around, it is probably a good thing that you don’t wait until January to begin anything. By choosing your own start date, you are doing it in your own time. There is none of that pressure that comes with making such a public declaration on New Year's Eve.
Setting goals can be an everyday occurrence. Consider your goals and go from there. Some great resolutions include:

- Limit the carbs
- Drink more water
- Reduce the sugar
- Exercise regularly
- Get more sleep
By focusing on each day at a time, rather than a blanket statement of I am going to lose 50 pounds, you are more likely to stick to your goals.
