We all need a mid-meal snack from time to time whether it’s mid-morning, mid-afternoon or after dinner, just to tide you over until bedtime. Trying to deny yourself can be problematic and in some cases, the more you put it off, the worse those cravings can become. If you choose wisely, a mid-meal snack is totally fine and will enable you to continue losing weight without issue. Guilt-free snacking is possible, even when you are dieting. Here are a few fun ideas to get you started.

Healthy desserts

Sometimes we crave a little something sweet in between meals, and that is okay. With so many great options on the markets these days, consider a sugar-free dessert such as sugar-free gelatin or sugar-free popsicles. While the latter may be more a summertime treat, consuming them any time of the day or the year will not interfere with your weight loss program in any way, shape or form. Eating these treats will make you feel like you are not depriving yourself giving you a chance to save up your calories for your main meals.

There is nothing better than tucking into a mixed plate of crunchy food. It is satisfying on so many levels and will allow you to draw your focus on what you are eating. With a crunchy platter, you are mindfully eating, taking in and acknowledging every bite. Consider healthy crunch foods such as radishes, dill pickles, celery, and cucumber all which make a satisfying sound every time you take a bite.
