Semaglutide’s New Indications: The FDA’s approval is based on a late-stage clinical study showing that semaglutide can help reduce the risk of death from chronic kidney disease and decrease the occurrence of major cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke. The medication was shown to reduce the risk of death and cardiac events by 24%.
