The Connection Between Physical and Mental Health

Did you know that your mental health and physical health are directly linked? There's no denying how intertwined these two facets of health really are. If one is in decline, the other is sure to follow. We hope to share a few different ways that these are linked so that you may recognize any shortcomings in the future.

  1. Sleep problems. Do you have trouble falling asleep at night due to thoughts wandering through your head? You aren't alone! Lack of sleep makes it harder to get your exercise in and makes you more apt to make poor eating choices.
  2. Unhealthy stress relievers. Very often, we turn to unhealthy ways to deal with stress. Binge eating is just the start of this! If you feel like stress is causing you to make poor choices, take action immediately.
  3. Energy Loss. Sometimes, even with full nights of sleep, depression wears us out and leaves us feeling exhausted constantly. This makes it much harder to get out of bed - making it impossible to in any exercise. If you are feeling this way, consider reaching out for help.
