It's easy to not feel positive about yourself and your weight loss progress. Keep in mind, however, that staying positive helps you achieve the goals that you are trying to attain. Staying positive isn't as easy as "said and done" - it's quite difficult, actually. Here are a few tips on the best ways to stay positive.
- Start fresh every day. Always keep in mind that every day is a new start. Just because you haven't been hitting your goals, it doesn't mean that you won't end up there.
- Don't let the scale be the bottom line. Sure - at the end of all of this, you want to see the number that your scale reads drop. When that number isn't decreasing as fast as you'd like, consider other factors. Do you feel better? Do you have more energy? Are you a happier person over all?
- Remind yourself of the end goal. You aren't going to see daily results. It'd be great to wake up a different person every morning, but that just isn't realistic. Remember where you started, and remind yourself of the end goal. An image of the best version of yourself should put a smile on your face!
- Give yourself a pep-talk. Be your own coach. Tell yourself about how great you are. Do it out loud. Don't stop until you've convinced yourself.
