What Is Your Motivation For Losing Weight?

We all need a why – what is yours? What is your why? Why do you want to lose weight? What is your motivation for wanting to get healthy and commit to a weight loss program such as the one we offer at FIT Medical Weight Loss? Everyone is different. Everyone has their own individual and unique why. Perhaps a couple of these reasons may resonate with you and reaffirm why you wish to lose weight in the first place.

You want to spend more quality time with your kids or grandkids

This is actually a huge why for many people. They want to be able to not just spend more time with their kids or grandkids but more quality time with them. This means being able to participate in activities with their kids and have the opportunity to experience things with them. Your weight may hold you back and stop you from doing things, but it doesn’t have to be that way forever.

You want to go on a holiday you have always dreamed of

There are so many destinations out there, but perhaps you have that one holiday that requires a little bit more activity than most. The one at the top of your bucket list such as the visit to Machu Picchu or the walking holiday around Europe – you know the one! Whatever it is – you understand deep down that you will feel better once you have shed a few pounds and gained a little more muscle to prepare for the trip.

You want to lower your cholesterol

Your health can be a huge factor in losing weight particularly if high cholesterol is the issue. While it may not seem like that serious an issue, it can actually lead to heart attacks, strokes or coronary heart disease. It is great incentive especially if you wish to remain quite active or keep up with those grandkids and you don’t want your poor health to get in the way.

Perhaps you have a special occasion coming up and you want to fit back into that suit or even those favorite pair of jeans of yours? Or maybe you are renewing your vows and want to wear your wedding dress one more time. Whatever the reason, use your why to motivate you. Keep an image of you wearing that piece of clothing on the fridge so you can see it every day and make it real.

You want to be more self-confident

There is no doubt about it – being overweight can affect your self-confidence. And you will find that the more weight you lose, the more confidence you will gain. The change may not happen overnight as you are obviously still the same person you always have been but the external changes will start to affect you gradually, and you will find your attitude to things such as social events and networking change for the better.
